Headline: “White House Did Not Understand Shutdown Implications”
The Donald did not comprehend
The great damage a shutdown could send.
This is not a surprise;
Trump’s the inverse of wise,
And his couns’lors kiss Donald’s butt end.
The Donald begs, “Let’s make a deal?”
Via Twitter, he makes that appeal.
You should steel yourself, bro,
Cuz you’re getting no dough
For cement or your slat walls of steel.
“Trump Derangement’s” a syndrome some claim
Is a lefty disorder. How lame!
The afflicted are those
Who remain in the throes
Of Trump’s spell and still fall for his game.
Dear Donald, you’ll need more than luck
With your efforts at passing the buck;
You could crawl on all fours,
But the shutdown blame’s yours:
You’re the schmuck who’s inflicted this muck.
Trump must think that our troops are all dumb.
What else could explain why that bum
Would visit their base
And lie to their face
Re their raises? The Donald is scum!
My dear Trump, were you raised in an alley?
Cuz a visit with troops ain’t a rally.
Your political speech
In that setting’s a breach…
And pally, we’re keeping a tally.
Dear Donald, by lying to troops,
You dishonor and treat them like dupes.
Your “regime” is a mess,
And you menace the press…
Though you DO provide plenty of scoops.
Don’t expect any praise or applause
For that trip to Iraq; Donald’s flaws
Shall always outweigh
One single good day
In a reign that flouts all of our laws.
The Donald loves passing the buck;
Blame is something he’ll constantly duck.
Unlike Truman, who said:
“Buck stops here,” Trump instead
Runs amok — finds a fall guy to fuck.
Jane C. Timm: “The president is making a list, and checking it twice: Those who have wronged him.”
The Donald is making a list
Of people who’ve wronged him. He’s pissed!
Nearly ev’ryone’s mean,
So on vengeance Trump’s keen.
How he wishes they’d cease to exist!
Says Donald, The Fed is at fault
For the stock market’s large downward vault.
Blame Powell, he’ll blurt,
Throwing mud to subvert
The truth, via “facts” that are alt.
James Mattis held Donald at bay.
But alas, the man’s going away
Way before he had planned,
Because Trump felt unmanned
And said “Leave now!” (Trump-petulance-play.)
The shutdown, dear Donald, is yours.
You broke it; you keep it. The doors
Of the gov have been shut
By YOU! Get your butt
Down to Congress. Concede … on all fours.
Donald’s wall-pledge is clearly “absurd!”
Don’t take it from me; that’s a word
Mick Mulvaney once used
To describe it. Confused?
So’s the staff-chief now leading Trump’s herd.
The news keeps delivering shocks:
There’s a daily new low for our stocks;
James Mattis resigned;
Trump (as usual) whined;
And we seem to be governed by Fox.
There is plenty more bad news to list,
And the thought of it all makes me pissed.
The government’s closed,
And our nation’s been hosed
By a felon. (Well, you get the gist.)
The odds of a shutdown are growing,
And the BS-packed blame-game is flowing.
Blame Pelosi, they blare.
Schumer! Durbin! I swear,
Those Republican noses are growing.
Good riddance, Paul Ryan. Buh-bye,
To a craven and faux-wonkish guy.
“Budget hawk?” What a joke!
You’re a tax-cutting bloke,
And your life’s a big deficit lie!
John Dean: “Trump also believes taking thoughtless actions that hurt everyone shows his strongman swagger…”
The Donald will swagger and preen,
And behave like an uncontrolled teen.
He’ll target the weak
And the desp’rate, to seek
Base support. How he loves to demean!
If you’re tempted to try legal stunts,
Take this lesson from Flynn, who’s a dunce:
When you feign being set up,
Your troubles won’t let up;
Fed’ral judges detest such affronts!
Trump’s campaign-team was teeming with crooks
It surely was one for the books;
His affinity for
That felonious corps
Was driven by greed. (Not good looks.)
