Limerick Ode To Information Overload

Happy Information Overload Day! (October 20, 2015)

Limerick Ode To Information Overload (3-Verse Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

Too much data is haunting my dreams–
Excess info and too many memes.
Overloaded with news,
My brain has the blues:
“I’m cluttered with tidbits,” it screams.

So what’s the solution pray tell
That will free me from info-stress hell?
Turn off ev’ry machine
And device? That sounds mean
And quite limiting. Not a good sell!

Is there anything else I can do?
I suppose I could hide in the loo.
But alas and alack,
That room has a stack
Of old weeklies — a factoid fondue.

A solution’s at hand, it would seem,
To the data that’s haunting your dream.
    Your phone has an app
    To deprive you of pap.
The “Off” button’s not too extreme.

  2. What’s the solution
    To too much information?
Turn it off and toss it away
    Would be extreme, I’ll say
    Just use moderation! :)

  3. Bjorn says:

    All that information overload
    why not a little interlude?
    where it’s rather dark
    and TV cannot bark
find the peace where you conclude

    — ha.. not very good.

I am a member of the “tech generation” and I have to say, I entirely agree. Too many of us live our lives through screens.

Very well written! I totally agree, way too much technology in our lives! :-)
