Creature of Habit (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane
“Shall I tell you our specials today?”
Asks the waiter, who knows what I’ll say:
“My regular, please.
Just a burger — no cheese.”
My order’s become a cliché.
(This was inspired by Weekend Wordsmith’s “what’s on the menu” prompt. And speaking of prompts, there’s plenty of time left to give my family-related poetry prompt a try.)

I do this all the time! I hate it that I do it, but I don’t know how to stop! The dilemma is of course that I get the same thing every time if I have something I truly enjoy because I know I will be thrilled - if I get something else - I risk disappointment… I don’t eat out enough to take that risk…

This was great! All of your limericks are really great, though. I’m happy to have found your blog.

So true. We all stick to what we like. Few years before, someone mentiolned to me that the restaurants generally serve the leftovers as speacial. Maybe it is not true but it is hard to take it off my mind.
