Mitt Romney’s Sunken Ship Blues (Limerick)

I know that I shouldn’t indulge in Schadenfreude, but I can’t help myself: Watching the Republican rats desert Mitt Romney’s sinking ship is immensely entertaining! And in my defense, Gail Collins seems to be enjoying it too.

Mitt Romney’s Sunken Ship Blues (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

Mitt Romney is now on the outs.
Having lost in a rout, Romney pouts,
Making whiny remarks,
Giving GOP sharks
An excuse for disownership shouts.

ha. the GOP is going to have to wake up pretty quick
if they dont act in two years they might get licked…

I too am taking secret delight in Mr Mitts fall. Good thing he wasn’t elected. If he had been, he’s have been the President nobody liked; from either side.

No need to feel sorry for Mittens
He’s mewing like lost little kittens
    Says Obama gave gifts
    And it’s now causing rifts
So the Party apart it be splittins.

    Sorry about that last rhyme.

It does remind me a little of the Katzenjammer Kids though. You may recall that comic strip.

When they were finished reading the comics, my parents would give them to me to tear apart. They were astonished when I went to the Kids comic and invariably tore it apart first.

They would watch and laugh hysterically and I’ve since come to believe that’s the reason I went to that strip and tore it before the others.

Sometime later I did read the strip for a while.

    Mitt Romney’s Prez chances are blown;
His excuses get nothing but groans.
    With nothing to say
    He still won’t go away!
Mitt, PLEASE take your toys and go home!

  5. The Oracle says:

Mitt Romney, and his rabid right-wing billionaire benefactors, wanted desperately for him to be the right-wing Santa Claus who would only give “gifts” to his wealthy and “nice” billionaire and millionaire right-wing benefactors, while he wanted to be The Grinch to all those “naughty” 47 percenters, poor, middle-class, labor union do-nothings who don’t deserve any “gifts.”

Shorter Romney and overall Republican sentiment: we want the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, but don’t anyone dare to propose that the rich get a little poorer so the poor can get a little richer.
