Trumpeting Leadership (Limerick)

My self-challenge for today was writing a limerick using the new-to-me word “fugleman.”

An assertive, decisive, and frugal man
Was also an excellent bugle man.
He would make extra dough
Playing band gigs and so
In parades, he was always the fugleman.

One Response to “Trumpeting Leadership (Limerick)”

  1. Terry Marter says:

I never much cared for the bugle:
The inventor’s note quota’s too frugal.
    And the trombone just drones,
But you can’t beat the tones
Of the sonorous Clark Terry’s flugel.
