At the start of each year, it’s tradition
To draw up a vow-list, the mission
Being clean up one’s act
In some way. But in fact,
Our lapses soon lead to contrition.

Resolutions I thought I could keep
‘Til I found I was in way too deep.
So to hell with that list!
I don’t care who gets pissed!
I’m not going to lose any sleep.
Dumping the old vows was pretty easy
Thinking for new ones makes us crazy
Some people want to know; they are nosy!
We set new year resolutions that are rosy
The fruits on distant trees always look juicy!
