Clichéd Limerick

I’m playing with clichés today:

Clichéd Limerick
By Madeleine Begun Kane

I try to think outside the box,
But sometimes those boxes have locks.
And to break myself free
With creative esprit,
I have to be crazy like fox.

UPDATE: Happy Cliché Day, November 3rd!

  1. Henry Coe says:

    Speaking of crazy ole Fox
who mislead in re-framed political talks
    They confused pundit galore
as they screwed old Al Gore
and made fun of the needed Lock Box

  2. madkane says:

    Indeed Fox did, Henry. :)

  3. Rinkly Rimes says:

She shot off like a bat out of hell,
As a cliche would have it, ‘pell-mell’!
    Did a terrible fright
Make her run out of sight?
I’m afraid I’m unable to tell.

  4. madkane says:

I like it, Rinkly. But now I’m in the mood for meat loaf. :)

  5. Madeleine, the first one, with the line, “crazy like fox”? If you read it with a Russian accent (a la Natasha Fatale from Bullwinkle and Rocky), I guarantee you will laugh out loud!! Great work, and fun, too. Needed that belly laugh, so thanks! Amy

  6. madkane says:

    Thanks so much, Amy!

  7. hansi says:

I occasionally think outside the box
Especially when it comes to news from Fox
But no matter how hard I try
That shit just doesn’t seem to fly
For the truth, they seem to keep under locks.

    Fun one, Hansi!
