Question of the Day (Limerick)

Is creating a limerick hard?
That depends on one’s mode as a bard:
One can try to comply
With the rules, or skate by
With some “near rhyme” and meter that’s marred.

Two of my favorite Rhyme Crime limericks:

    His Saving Grace ~
“The name of a person or place
is oft used in a limerick to grace
some odd word that won’t rhyme.
    I’ll be damned before I’m
    gonna do that.”

    The Earl of Thrace
    A Slanted Boner ~
When rhyming, a close call is heinous
and slant rhyme should get an F-minus!
    I’ll rant and I’ll rage
and I’ll send you a plague
although some poets think it’s a bonus.

    Thanks for the laughs, Ken!

And a LOL to both of them!

    Cheesy-Peasy ~
    Creating a limerick’s easy
and whether they’re sleazy or cheesy
    once meter and rhyme
are both tweaked to their prime,
the best endings might make you queasy.
