I’m afraid I can’t stop writing tax return limericks — probably because it’s a lot more fun than actually working on my tax return.

Wretched forms to fill out—it’s a mess!
All confused, you say, “Heck!”
Then you write out a check
For what’s due or, at least, your best guess.

I no longer stress. I just take the shoebox and cigar box and paper bag filled with possibly deductible expenses to my accountant, leave him a blank check, and tell him to disavow all knowledge of my whereabouts if the check bounces and the IRS comes around asking. ;0)
