Open Limerick To “Licensing Clerks” Offended By Gay Marriage

You’re a county employee devout?
There’s a law your religion says, “Flout?”
Well, a licensing clerk
Just can’t shirk certain work.
License gay folks to wed … or get out!

I thought, while I read this, that we really need a Nichols and May routine along the lines of their bargain funeral skit (you may still be able to see it on Youtube). I can imagine a whole long list of moral qualms for licensing clerks to base refusals to issue on. I’m religiously opposed to certifying elections of right-wing politicians. Who’s to say I’m not?

What a great idea! And I love that Nichols and May routine!
