Why I Don’t Hate My Hate Mail

Why I Don’t Hate My Hate Mail
By Madeleine Begun Kane

There are folks quite averse to my verse.
In their emails, perverse, how they curse!
But I never will fret
Over hate mail I get:
This is freedom, for better or worse. [tags]Hate Mail, Political Verse, Angry Email, Political Anger, Freedom Humor, Free Speech, Free Expression[/tags]

I’m having a hard time understanding why you would get hate mail.

Yes, much of what you do is pointed, but it isn’t mean-spirited. You go for the laugh, not the jugular. You are making fun of what people do, not who they are.

These people are in serious need of a humor transplant.

Thanks, Bryan. I’m puzzled by it myself. :)

In this world so diverse and immense,
There are jerks with emotions intense

On what’s meant as a joke.
They won’t laugh, but they will take offense.

    You said it, Elisson!
