Blocked Limerick

Thursday Think Tank invites us to write a poem about writer’s block. I was almost too blocked to write this limerick:

Blocked Limerick
By Madeleine Begun Kane

A gal was attempting to write
Something clever and witty, with bite.
But alas her poor muse
Went on strike — too much booze.
What a plight: All her verses are trite!

    Madeleine,
Was tempted to write one. Got inspired to do so. It gives good practice, good or bad does not matter. Ok with you Ma’am?

A gal was attempting to write
Something she thought that would fright
    Was a tame affair
    Just lots of hot air
But friends tolerated her, claimed her as ‘bright’

P/S Will post in my blog so that it is easier for me to revert back. Thanks.

i don’t like it when the muse goes on strike too ~

  3. Been there, Madeline! That was a funny!

    What good is a muse
    Who’s had to much booze?

    There’s paying your dues
    And there’s fighting to lose….

I wonder if you live on my block? The wine in each of our pieces has delivered different results, Mad! Good to read you again.

    Very clever!

    Here’s another take on it:

    A writer-dude went into shock
when he realized – ye gads – writer’s block!
    ‘Though Muse-Zombies were eager,
    brain pickins’ were meager.
    so together they penned horror-schlock.
