Thanksgiving Limerick For DC Pols

Serious fiscal negotiations are (or at least should be) going on right now in Washington DC. And whether you think we’re facing a “fiscal cliff,” or more of a “fiscal incline,” here’s a Thanksgiving message to Washington politicians: Please talk turkey and work something out that makes sense for our nation.

Thanksgiving Limerick For DC Pols
By Madeleine Begun Kane

It’s time for some serious talk.
Please don’t bitch or complain, and don’t balk.
Our issues are great—
Act before it’s too late.
So kindly talk turkey. Don’t squawk.

amen. lets get some solutions instead of bravado

  2. John Sardo says:

    Serious talk can be murky
    The result is often quirky
    Boehner’s blather of cliffs
    Too easily miffs
But we’re dealing with a Washington turkey.

It’s time for some serious talks
Instead of threats to take walks
Off a cliff that’s called fiscal
    We know it’s all mythical
    The fable of austerity hawks.

    The talks aren’t so serious
    They’re becoming delirious
    Boehner’s still balking
    With threats he is walking
    This bird’s stuffing is mysterious.

Happy T-day, Mad! (In Our House, “T-Day” stands for “Tofu Day”!)

  4. Avedon says:

    Happy Turkey, Mad One!

It’s not the “fiscal” matters they should talking about, though – it’s jobs.

Thanks Steve and Avedon. I agree Avedon and Brain.

    Fun verse, John!
