Open Limerick To President Obama

Watching Republicans out-maneuver President Obama on “bi-partisan” health care reform has been so painful, I sometimes feel forced to avert my eyes. So I’ve written this open double limerick to President Obama:

An Open Limerick To President Obama
By Madeleine Begun Kane

Dear Obama, the GOP’s clear:
Won’t support any health reform. Hear?
You can whittle the bill
Down to bupkis — you still
Won’t get votes. Yes they’ve duped you, I fear.

Your naivety’s hurting our cause.
And so how about taking a pause?
Work with Dems on the Hill
To create a fresh bill
That has nary a GOP clause.

Wow! You mean ignore the losers, the whiners, the maroons that ruled the inbetween with nary a good thought? Cool. Yes, he CAN. Please. Good stuff here, as always!

Excellent! This old granny would like to be able to tell that to Obama in person. It has been disgusting watching Obama reaching out to those self-serving idiots.

Any health care plan must have a public option. This is the key to competition for the insurance. Without a public option, we might as well have what we have now. Nothing for the uninsured.

I am sad to have occasion to make the comparison, but I hope the president puses to reflect on what really matters now…

    BHO, you are no EMK
You promised Ted, so lead the way
We need health care for all —
    The naysayers will stall —
But, like FDR, make ’em pay!

    Thanks, Steve!

Hello to all, Im german and I cant complain about our Healthcare System in Germany at all. Everyone here has Insurance, employed or not. Even do it is deducting quit a bit of my pay-check, I can be sure that no matter what, if anything would happen to me, smaller or big surgery, expensive medication or longer treatments, Im taken care of in the best way without worrying about a invoice from a hospital or a doctor, so is also my child automatically insured with me. What is more important then my childs health? Something like “I cant go to a doctor cause I have no insurance” does not exist here. I really hope that the american people will soon find a good solution for this in my opinion very bad situation. Good Luck and never give up!
