Every so often I break into tanka:

Acidic Tanka

Pithy recipe:
Turn lemons to lemonade.
Don’t mean to be tart,
Acid, ill-natured, sour—
But sugarcoating’s tasteless.

    Ha…well done, Madeleine! The older I get, the less patience I have with the dubious art of sugarcoating…just deal with it…LOL!

    Yes. Sugarcoating’s tasteless; but one must also realize the possibilities if one manipulates the elements.

    I don’t like that overly sweet, smugness that arrives. I’m a tart kind of girl.

    How true! The moment you add sugar to lemonade, it loses its taste.
