As you surely know by now, Air America host Randi Rhodes has been suspended for calling both Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton “whores” and describing Hillary with more f-words than I could manage to count in this clip of her performance. Just one question: This was supposed to be comedy?
Ode To Randi “Queen of Obscene” Rhodes
By Madeleine Begun Kane
That performance by Randi ain’t pretty.
Calling Hill’ry a whore’s hardly witty.
Hurling f-bombs galore
About Hill. What a bore!
She’s suspended? This blog has no pity.

Opinions are like assholes…everybody has one.
Bring Randi back!
If you don’t like her, don’t listen to her. Period.

Who cares about Randi R! I care that the potential next leader of the free world had this going on at a fundraiser for him and he’s said nothing!

Jean,
Clue phone, it’s for you….
The event was private and it was for a Peace Action Michigan gathering. her words were not funny, nor all that shocking, but you don’t fire or censor.
The cure for bad speech, is more speech, not stopping speech.

bluelou, right on! You do not stop speech, period! You do not have to listen.
Randi, right or wrong in this instance, kicks ass like no one else, and, I love her for it. She has more gumption and fire than anyone one out there…except Mike Malloy (Goddess bless him with a very long life). She speaks to power fearlessly and we need a great deal more of that. We need her on the air. So, ask her nicely, or give her more money, but get her the hell back on the air.

Yes, it was an Obama event, even listed on his website.

And Randi Rhodes still has her freedom of speech, she just lost her job as would anyone doing something in a public forum their employer didn’t like. Life sucks like that.
Freedom of speech means you don’t get arrested or otherwise punished for your efforts by the government. Companies still have the right to do what they want, even if you’re not on the clock. Don’t like it, get another job.
If you ask me, the left can do without its version of Anne Coulter. Still, if you miss her, I understand she’s now available for birthday parties and whatnot.
