Limerick Ode To A Bad Memory

Limerick Ode To A Bad Memory
By Madeleine Begun Kane

My memory’s terribly rotten,
So I don’t absorb data like cotton.
My mind’s for the birds
Cuz I keep losing words:
Hypermnesiac’s meaning? Forgotten!

ha…i hope that i can keep mine as long as i can…you know…cool new word!

  2. Tony says:

    A poet named Madeleine Kane
held massive words in her brain.
    Much effort was spent
    to learn what they meant,
    but now I’ve forgotten again.

  3. Ken Higginson says:

    Mad Kane’s got a great ca-bu-lary.
Her use of long words is quite scary.
    I like it much betters
    When there’s just four letters
’cause reading the long ones is weary.

  4. Kelly says:

    Ha, you and me, both!

  5. My memory is like a sieve
Easy to forget and to live
    All falls through the mesh
    No grievance is fresh
So how hard can it be to forgive?

Enjoy your blog immensely, though usually can’t get up enough courage to actually leave a comment on the polished pieces here. Thanks

  6. Sabio Lantz says:

“Your memory is slipping”, they say
But it has always been this way
Even at seventeen I was lame
    Forgetting my girlfriend’s name
    paramnesia is not only grey

[ nicely done — thank you for tempting us into playful rhyme and smiles ]

  7. Ella says:

This was clever and well done
I suspect you once had a southern tongue ;D ?

  8. Jannpoet says:

My memory is not what it was
    I forget many things because
    My Brains in upheaval
    In the act of retrieval
The words I am needing are lost.

    Medicare/Tightwads/Amnesic
Some daring politico [who wants to escape politics] will hafta raise the S.S. & Medicare eligibility ages~~laudable science creates longer lives. Can we cure AGEISM? How do 60-yr-olds get hired? & not fired? “Rage” is dead-on [boink!].

Thanx lots for re-running cheapskates [Pls reprint your favorites for our holidays…some of us just discovered your wizardry].

Yikes~~almost FORGOT to fwd thanx for re-publ’g memory-loss verses. “Digital Impasse” is quite ornate…a mini reality show…it gleams & glistens & is everybody’s quotidian trial. 12/11/12’s [“Bad Memory”] enchants…Tony & Ken’s swashbuckle.
