  • Zagat.com I've always been a big fan of Zagat's restaurant reviews books and am thrilled to find Zagat online with over 20,000 reviews of restaurants in many major metropolitan areas, a terrific search engine, links to maps and driving directions, and more.

  • Mad Kane's Food & Drink Humor You'll find all of my food and drink related humor here, including my song parody, Ode To Takeout.

  • Trivia, Puzzles and Daily Weird News This fun site is updated daily with new trivia quizzes, puzzles, riddles, interesting strange links and various other activities that will challenge your wits. You can win daily award points which can be used to win monthly prizes.

  • Anecdotage This entertaining site features funny stories about famous people -- "anecdotes from Gates to Yeats."

  • ExplodingCigar Strange news, weird events, quirky sites. What could be more enticing?

  • Albino Squirrel Preservation Society This University of Texas based organization seeks to do just what its title says. Sounds fine by me, so long as they don't get in my basement.

  • ChangingLINKS.com This fun site allows you to view random, hand-picked sites.

  • The New York City Blogger Map A creative project to bring together New York City's bloggers via a map of the city that shows where the bloggers are, organized by subway stop.

  • John Fanzine This odd site defies description, so I won't even try, but do check it out.

  • Hollywood Pulse The slogan of this funny site is: "Stimulating Irregular Heartbeats Since 2001." It features parody news stories, fake letters, and more about Hollywood celebs and other alleged entertainers.

  • StumpYourFriends.com This site lets you create fun tests to find out who knows the most about you or anything else.

  • Life's a Stitch: The Best of Contemporary Women's Humor A terrific, new Random House humor anthology, whose contributors include Wendy Wasserstein, Delia Ephron, Anna Quindlen, Kathy Najimy, Christine Lavin, Erma Bombeck, Julie Gold, Cathy Guisewite, Merrill Markoe, Patricia Volk, Signe Wilkinson, Jane Wagner, Judith Viorst, Fran Capo, Molly Ivins, Lynn Johnston, Julie Haslton, Roz Chast, and many other terrific writers, cartoonists, and singer/songwriters.   • Word Play Word Play links to an excellent selection of sites featuring fun with words.

  • Mugshots of the Rich and Famous Visit this site to view photos some famous people don't want you to see.

  • Museum of Depressionist Art This "museum" specializes in the art of the Depressionist school, which most other museums reject as being too miserable, dejected and hopeless to warrant space on a wall. Be sure to visit. I'm betting it will cheer you up.

  • TechnoCursed.com Do you curse out computers on a regular basis? If so, you're bound to enjoy this entertaining site.

  • Gallery of the Unidentifiable Famous for having not a single identifiable artist in it, the Gallery specializes in sculpture and other objets d'art.

  • Thinks.com Thinks.com is an excellent directory and search engine for the Net's best sites for brain games, puzzles, word play, and mental recreation.

  • EveryRule.com You want to play a game, but can't remember the rules? EveryRule.com has the rules to just about every imaginable card, computer, sports, TV show, and board game. It even has etiquette rules, which could come in handy if, say, a fight breaks out in the middle of a game.

  • Foreign Languages For Travelers Would you like to know how to say "I love you" in dozens of languages? What about the more utilitarian, "Where's the bathroom?" This foreign language site (with audio clips) is a great way to avoid being an Ugly (and hungry) American.

  • Quoteland.com An amusing and informative site packed with quotes about almost everything, accessible both by topic and randomly. Reading quotes in the humor section's "stupidity area" is the best way I know to boost self-esteem.

  • UselessKnowledge.com The most useful useless site I've ever seen ... and that's a good thing.
