More specifically, Obama plans to use the budget reconciliation process to enact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonmonthly.com\/archives\/individual\/2009_04\/017907.php \">health care reform<\/a> and <a href=\" http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/04\/24\/AR2009042403611.html \">student loan legislation<\/a> if the GOP fails to mend its obstructionist ways. <\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d celebrate Obama&#8217;s filibuster-proofing plans with a double limerick:<\/p>\n<p>They Only Have Themselves To Blame<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Bipartisanship had a chance.<br \/>\nBut the GOP zero-vote stance<br \/>\nWas very instructive.<br \/>\nTheir actions obstructive<br \/>\nDerailed any two-party dance.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve clearly expressed their intent,<br \/>\nSo as much as they scream and they vent,<br \/>\nWe should screw the minority.<br \/>\nLet the majority<br \/>\nGovern how money is spent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, Obama sent the filibuster-happy Republicans a message: Their zero-vote obstructionism has consequences.
