How else do we explain his odd (and objectively wrong) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/bensmith\/0111\/SOTU_not_exceptionalist_enough.html\">criticism of Obama&#8217;s State of the Union Speech<\/a>?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If there&#8217;s one thing President Obama did go on about a bit about in the State of the Union, it was American exceptionalism &#8212; as the National Journal&#8217;s Ron Fournier noted at some length.<\/p>\n<p>Two who didn&#8217;t entirely notice were Speaker John Boehner and Kathleen Parker. From Parker-Spitzer:<\/p>\n<p>BOEHNER: Well, they &#8212; they&#8217;ve refused to talk about America exceptionalism. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It should also be noted that Obama called Boehner Speaker of &#8220;The Greatest Nation on Earth.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Boehner&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonmonthly.com\/archives\/individual\/2011_01\/027727.php\">nonsensical complaint<\/a> inspired my latest limerick:<\/p>\n<p>John Boehner &#8212; Exceptionally Wrong<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Exceptionalism was missing<br \/>\nFrom the SOTU says Boehner, dismissing<br \/>\nObama&#8217;s big speech<br \/>\nWhich he tries to impeach.<br \/>\nNot list&#8217;ning enables the dissing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Speaker of the House John Boehner apparently can sleep with his eyes open.
