Just what’s the Republican mission?
\nTo oppose each Obama position.
\nHe gets tough on BP—
\nGets an escrow, then see
\nTheir response to the BP contrition:<\/p>\n
Reps Joe Barton and Bachman and Price
\nBy default claimed Obama ain’t nice.
\nHe’s been mean to BP.
\nIt a shakedown, you see.
\nCuz unthinking objection’s their vice.<\/p>\n
But fighting this fund makes no sense.
\nTo do so’s an error immense.
\nThe people approve.
\nIt’s a positive move,
\nAnd opposing it makes them look dense.<\/p>\n
Even Boehner and co seem to know
\nThat defending BP’s a no-go.
\nStrikes a terrible tone,
\nSo they rushed to disown
\nThe pro-BP speech made by Joe.<\/p>\n
But a hundred-plus others expressed
\nThe same viewpoint in print. Not addressed!
\nIt seems Boehner and co
\nAre pretending as though
\nThe have solved their BP PR test.<\/p>\n
It is clear where Republicans stand.
\nThey are naught but a pro-corp’rate brand.
\nThey put citizens last
\nAnd are only aghast
\nWhen a Dem gives the people a hand.<\/p>\n
