In the wake of his humiliating interview<\/a> on Rachel Maddow’s<\/a> MSNBC show, Rand Paul has a serious<\/a> Civil Rights Act problem<\/a>. It’s so bad, that he’s already flip-flopping<\/a> (or pretending to flip-flop) over his views and he was even scared into canceling<\/a> his scheduled Meet the Press interview. <\/p>\n

But Rand Paul isn’t the only guy with a problem — his fellow Republican pols have one too. What do I mean? Well, eventually they’ll have to choose sides<\/a>: Either stick up for the Republican nominee with the insane<\/a> views and maintain party loyalty, or disavow Rand Paul’s views<\/a> and be seen by many as disloyal to the GOP. Good luck with that.<\/p>\n

This brings me to my latest three-verse limerick:<\/p>\n

Republican Pols — Off or On the Rand-Wagon?
\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n

The Sen. nominee known as Rand
\nIs as odd as they come in this land.
\nHe says cos are endowed
\nWith this right: All’s allowed.
\nPaul would give them a fully free hand.<\/p>\n

If they want to be racist, they may.
\nBlock the Jews from their doors? That’s okay.
\nCuz the gospel of Paul
\nIs no biz regs at all.
\nSo feel free to go fire a gay.<\/p>\n

The Republican leaders must choose
\nTo decry (or endorse) these mad views.
\nThere is no in-between.
\nThere’s no hiding, I mean.
