{"id":2777,"date":"2010-03-12T19:21:13","date_gmt":"2010-03-12T23:21:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/madness\/?p=2777"},"modified":"2010-03-12T19:21:13","modified_gmt":"2010-03-12T23:21:13","slug":"republican-corruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/madness\/2010\/03\/12\/republican-corruption\/","title":{"rendered":"Holier-Than-Thou Wars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Democrats have suffered some ethics-embarrassments, and Republicans have been playing holier-than-thou with an <a href=\"http:\/\/theplumline.whorunsgov.com\/democratic-national-committee\/new-dnc-ad-hits-gop-as-party-of-vitter-and-ensign\/\">RNC Charlie Rangel and Eric Massa ad.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, looking morally superior would be a lot easier if  Republicans didn&#8217;t have such a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonmonthly.com\/archives\/individual\/2010_03\/022835.php\">culture of corruption.<\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m guessing the RNC  figured Democrats were too cowardly to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2010\/03\/12\/dnc-ad-attempts-to-capita_n_497166.html\">fight back.<\/a>  Fortunately, the RNC was wrong.<\/p>\n<p>And that brings me to my latest limerick:<\/p>\n<p>Holier-Than-Thou Wars<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>The GOP&#8217;s trying to smack<br \/>\nThe Dems on their ethics.
