Dean says, <a href=\"http:\/\/vpr.net\/news_detail\/86681\/\">&#8220;Kill the Senate Bill,&#8221;<\/a> and I&#8217;m inclined to agree:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is essentially the collapse of health care reform in the United States Senate. And, honestly, the best thing to do right now is kill the Senate bill and go back to the House and start the reconciliation process, where you only need 51 votes and it would be a much simpler bill.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I blame President Obama for this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taylormarsh.com\/2009\/12\/15\/its-obama-not-lieberman\/ \">health reform fiasco.<\/a>  For it&#8217;s Obama who empowered Joe Lieberman to blackmail the Senate and hold health reform hostage.<\/p>\n<p>And that brings me to my latest double limerick:<\/p>\n<p>Dressing Down The President<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Dear Obama, your job is to lead.<br \/>\nYou have failed. So has Senator Reid.<br \/>\nSeems you&#8217;d sign any swill<br \/>\nLabeled &#8220;health reform bill,&#8221;<br \/>\nAnd then brag that we&#8217;ve got what we need. <\/p>\n<p>Yes, you&#8217;ve tragic&#8217;ly blown your great chance.<br \/>\nSo spare us the song and the dance.<br \/>\nThough many will swear<br \/>\nYou&#8217;ve done much for our care,<br \/>\nI am sorry &#8212; the prez has no pants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Removing the Medicare buy-in from the Senate health reform bill (to appease Senator Lieberman) was the last straw for Howard Dean.
