The\u00a0impression I’ve been getting lately is that every barb and criticism aimed at Obama is almost bound to\u00a0be characterized as racist by Obama surrogates.<\/p>\n
Isn’t there something wrong when a candidate (or\u00a0commentator) has to fear the racism card each time he\/she says something negative about a black candidate? Something\u00a0that would be just\u00a0fine to say about a white one?<\/p>\n
And shouldn’t Obama be required to meet criticisms on the merits? Everyone else is … or certainly should be. Not only does this\u00a0better serve the voters, but it also\u00a0helps candidates\u00a0prepare for the general election.<\/p>\n
By\u00a0cloaking himself in a coat of black Teflon, Obama\u00a0belittles genuine racial grievances and stifles real debate.\u00a0He even demeans himself.<\/p>\n
