From time to time, I write an alphabetical poem summing up a period’s zany and significant political moments. (My last one said goodbye and good riddance to Bush and Cheney.<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Although Barack Obama’s administration is still relatively new, there’s already plenty of material for another piece of alpha-political poetry:<\/p>\n

A is for Alaska <\/a>with its lovely Russian view.<\/p>\n

B is for the Birthers<\/a> who will rant and rave on cue. <\/p>\n

C is for conservatives co-opted by the loons.<\/a><\/p>\n

D is for each Democrat who caves<\/a> and often swoons.<\/p>\n

E is for elections that just never seem to stop. <\/p>\n

F’s for raising endless funds so pols will stay on on top. <\/p>\n

G’s for GOPers who so love to misinform.<\/a><\/p>\n

H is for our health care — much in need of broad reform.<\/a><\/p>\n

I is for insurance co’s. They love the status quo.<\/p>\n

J’s for Joseph Lieberman.<\/a> He really needs to go.<\/p>\n

K’s for Teddy Kennedy<\/a> whose legacy is great.<\/p>\n

L is for Rush Limbaugh<\/a> whose big talent’s spreading hate.<\/p>\n

M’s for John McCain who’s always on a Sunday show.<\/a><\/p>\n

N’s for nihilist congressmen, so fond of saying “No!”<\/a><\/p>\n

O is for Obama.<\/a> Hope he’s worthy of his rise.<\/p>\n

P is for Fox pundits and their “fair and balanced”<\/a> lies.<\/p>\n

Q is for the questions town hall crackpots<\/a> often pose.<\/p>\n

R’s for right-wing zealots<\/a> who are truthful-info foes.<\/p>\n

S is for Mark Sanford’s<\/a> Argentinean affair.<\/p>\n

T’s for Texans Perry<\/a> <\/a> and Pete Sessions.<\/a> What a pair! <\/p>\n

U is the USA. There’s greatness at its core.<\/p>\n

V’s for fam’ly values preached by hypocrites<\/a> galore.<\/p>\n

W’s for Dubya and the mess<\/a> he left behind.<\/p>\n
