Poor, innocent Republicans are being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0709\/25444.html\">hassled by wingnut birthers<\/a> &#8212; loons who would refuse to believe President Obama was born in the U.S., even if they witnessed his Hawaiian birth themselves.<\/p>\n<p>And it doesn&#8217;t help that Republicans like Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) encourage this nonsense by saying birthers &#8220;have a point&#8221; and by blaming Obama &#8212; claiming &#8220;the White House has not done a very good job of dispelling the concerns of these citizens.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That brings me to my latest limerick:<\/p>\n<p>Dear Senator Inhofe<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Dear Inhofe, I&#8217;ve heard you do deals<br \/>\nThat are fishy and steal people&#8217;s meals.<br \/>\nYou have proof it&#8217;s not true?<br \/>\nDoesn&#8217;t matter &#8212; won&#8217;t do.<br \/>\nNow Inhofe, you see how it feels?<\/p>\n<p><b>Update:<\/b> The House has passed a <a href=\"http:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2009\/roll647.xml\">resolution by 378 to 0 celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian statehood<\/a>.  The  resolution included language recognizing the state as <a href=\" http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/07\/27\/house-to-consider-counter_n_245741.html\">President Obama&#8217;s birthplace.<\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Wingnut birthers are gonna be <b>mad<\/b>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boohoohoo!
