On April 1, 2007 U.S. Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham<\/a> held a press conference<\/a> in Iraq, in which Sen. Graham rhapsodized about buying “five rugs for five bucks” in a Baghdad marketplace<\/a>. This was part of their joint effort to convince the American people that the war in Iraq is going far better than the media would lead us to believe.<\/p>\n

And that brings me to my latest limerick:<\/p>\n

Merchants Of Hype

Five rugs for five bucks!\u00a0 What a deal!
\nBaghdad-shopping for Graham’s quite a steal.
\nNow I’m sold on the war
\nCause I know what it’s for:
