Our nation’s elections have ended
\nWith results rather distant from splendid.
\nAs Republicans cheer,
\nI won’t cry in my beer;
\nI’ll need gin for our nightmare extended.<\/p>\n
***** Sundry Post-Election Haiku *****<\/p>\n
Dreadful election
\nhas killed my sense of humor,
\nso stuck with haiku.<\/p>\n
Election’s over–
\nmy worst fears are realized.
\nSay bye to Senate.<\/p>\n
Dems disempowered,
\nRepublicans emboldened.
\nBrace for impeachment.<\/p>\n
Election wipeout–
\nAmericans even more
\nstupid than I thought.<\/p>\n
“Was the election
\na Clinton epic failure?”
\nLatest lame headline.<\/p>\n
Sense of humor gone;
\nIf you have held on to yours,
\nmay I borrow it?<\/p>\n

Watching the returns,
\nI memorized who won what,
\nbut taxing my mind
\nproved to be unwarranted–
