Especially the Peggy Noonan line that I thought was a lot more funny than Paul Ryan was capable of. I was surprised that others were running with the story. But there’s a lot of that. I think Romney’s comment about not knowing why the windows in jets don’t roll down was also clearly a joke. And not a bad one at that. There is so much to dislike about Romney, we can show him some pity. “No. It’s ROMNEY Ryan!” My heart bleeds.

But I do think that satire is dead. Do you remember Billy Bob Neck? That was brilliant, but it never really took off–I think because people just didn’t get it. BBN was just too much like people you run into at family holidays. So Paul Day offed him. It was sad.
