Why “loons”? Why “wingnuts”? Why name calling at all? How does that help anyone in making any kind of peace between and among American people? It doesn’t? Country first is still very much alive. I don’t know why anyone would think that has gone away. Nobody is cheering because Chicago did not land the olympics. It was very obvious to anyone watching that Chicago probably never had a chance in the first place. I don’t understand where the cheering happened. Again with the sneering. It came from all over. It came from every party, news group, and every street corner in America. How did a man who had only been the president for 11 days “win” a peace prize? It was based upon “what ifs” and “if he does what he says” according to the group that chose him for the prize. Back in the seventies a group of soldiers were wounded in a bar in Germany. They were awarded the Purple Heart. Many service members threw their Purple Heart Medals away in protest. The incident cheapened the entire idea behind receiving one. Wounded in battle was the criteria, and somehow the guys in the bar got them. I’m guessing the Peace prize is now cheapened as well. Not because it’s Obama, but because it was awarded not for merit, but based upon what might happen. Stop calling people names. You aren’t doing anything but widening a gap that shouldn’t even be in place. I think of “Nanny Nanny Boo Boo”, when I hear name calling based on nothing more than a different political choice. It’s like little children in a school yard chanting to each other because one has something the other wants. “All we are saying, is give peace a chance”. That sounds a lot better than loons and wingnuts.
