Friday, September 11th was my birthday — one of those traumatizing, ends-with-zero birthdays. So I told my husband Mark that, unless he wanted me to be a basket case on nine-eleven, he’d better plan something good.<\/p>\n

So, did Mark rise to the occasion? He sure did, as I describe in this three-verse limerick:<\/p>\n

Happy Birthday To Me
\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n

My nine-one-one birthday was great!
\nHubby Mark planned a fabulous date:
\nGod of Carnage<\/a> — fine play —
\nFour fab stars on Broadway.
\nYes, I married a wonderful mate.<\/p>\n

The play featured James Gandolfini<\/a>,
\nWho did not<\/strong> play a mafia meanie.
\nHope Davis<\/a> starred too
\nAnd Jeff Daniels<\/a>. Woo Hoo!
\nMarcia Harden’s<\/a> the fourth. Creds ain’t teeny.<\/p>\n

We dined on gourmet Mex cuisine:
\nToloa<\/strong>che’s<\/a> the best I have seen.
\nAnd we drank and we danced
\nAt two<\/a> bars<\/a>. Age advanced?
\nWell, perhaps … but I felt sweet sixteen.<\/p>\n
