It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to JANE SHELTON HOFFMAN who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A woman who’d taken a shot
\nAt the bar with a tall, rugged Scot
\nWas just starting to flirt
\nWhen she peeked up his skirt
\nAnd exclaimed, “Is that all that you’ve got?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA fellow who\u2019d taken a shot
\nAt his neighbor\u2019s antique flower pot
\nGot a nasty surprise
\nFor that move-not-so-wise:
\nSteamin\u2019 St Bernard poop through his slot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Shawn Thorsen:<\/p>\n

A woman who’d taken a shot
\nOf some brew from a simmering pot
\nGrew a prehensile tail
\nAnd oozed slime like a snail …
\nT’was a gastropod monkey, begot!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Phyllis Sterling Smith a\/k\/a Granny Smith:<\/p>\n

A fellow who\u2019d taken a shot
\nAt writing still searched for a plot.
\n\u201cI am sure I\u201dll be fine
\nWhen I find that first line!\u201d
\nDo editors wait? They do not!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy:<\/p>\n

A fellow who\u2019d taken a shot
\nHad practiced his shooting a lot.
\nBut he still had no aim
\nWhen he shot at his game,
\nSo he ended with naught in his pot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

RJ Clarken:<\/p>\n

A fellow who\u2019d taken a shot
\nAt crashing a chi-chi night spot
\nPaid a thou for a drink
\nAnd much more for \u2018wink-wink.\u2019
\nThe next day? Just a sot with no pot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
