It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog, on Facebook, and on GooglePlus) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to J COSMO NEWBERY<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this very clever verse:<\/p>\n

A guy in the mood for a bite
\nAte a candle and half a flashlight.
\n“I\u2019m on a new diet,
\nI urge you to try it,
\nNow I\u2019m lighter but not very bright.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nWOW! He LOVED it that way!

A gal in the mood for a bite
\nGets a call for a dinner invite.
\nAndrew Zimmern\u2019s her date:
\nBizarre food\u2019s on the plate.
\nChange of mood. She says, \u201cFasting tonight.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jane Shelton Hoffman:<\/p>\n

A guy in the mood for a bite
\nTold a gal who was not very bright,
\n“Just give me a taste
\nOf your soft, little waist,
\nand I promise that’s all for the night.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mark Megson:<\/p>\n

A guy in the mood for a bite
\nFound a tasty one during his flight:
\nThe air hostess\u2019s rear
\nWas deliciously near.
\nHe gave the poor girl quite a fright.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pari Cooper:<\/p>\n

A gal in the mood for a bite
\nThought she’d thaw something out for that night.
\nWhen she opened the freezer,
\nThe sight didn’t please her.
\nIn fact she lost all appetite.<\/p>\n

When the stench from the box hit the air,
\nShe thought she saw something like hair!
\nA whole body dismembered,
\nBut then she remembered,
\nShe’d bought Dahmer’s old Frigidaire!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
