It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to PHYLLIS STERLING SMITH a\/k\/a Granny Smith<\/a>, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A fellow was going to bat
\nFor a law client monstrously fat.
\nWhen she lay down on hubby,
\nA man merely tubby,
\nShe mashed him as flat as a slat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Jesse Levy<\/a>, Pari Cooper, David McCormick a\/k\/a AdamantYves<\/a>, Steph Holdridge, Linda Moss, and Johanna Richmond. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Jesse Levy:<\/p>\n

A woman was going to bat
\nFor a local disgraced Democrat.
\nHe tweeted his junk!
\nHe’s a punk not a hunk.
\nHis career? Well now, that ended that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pari Cooper:<\/p>\n

A fellow was going to bat,
\n Had a dick that was long as “all that”.
\n He rounded each base,
\n In a three legged race,
\n Then tripped on his balls and fell flat.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David McCormick:<\/p>\n

A fellow was going to bat
\nSo he donned, for protection, a hat;
\nGloves and shirt, lightly padded;
\nThen furtively added
\nA cup for his this and his that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Steph Holdridge:<\/p>\n

A fella was going to bat
\nFor a gal who was losing her flat.
\nHe stopped the eviction
\nWith a tale that was fiction,
\nAnd moved in with his dog and his cat.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Linda Moss:<\/p>\n

A fellow was going to bat.
\nFrom nowhere appeared a black cat.
\nHe threw up his hand,
\nTossed the bat in the sand.
\nSuperstition will trick you like that!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Johanna Richmond:<\/p>\n

A fellow was going to bat
\nFor a perky, pump-lovin\u2019 pack rat;
\nHer footwear collection
\n(A shoo-in erection)
\nCould heal him in five minutes flat.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
