And that means I write a limerick, and you write your own, using the same first line. Then you post your limerick here and, if you\u2019re a Facebook user, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/madkane\/posts\/283153091697559\">on Facebook too<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As an experiment, I&#8217;m offering a freestyle limerick option this week, in addition to my preset pair of lines.<\/p>\n<p>The best submission will be crowned Limerick Of The Week. (Here\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/2011\/09\/18\/limerick-of-the-week-27\/\">last week\u2019s Limerick Of The Week Winner plus the Honorable Mentions<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll announce the Limerick of the Week Winner right before I post next week\u2019s Limerick-Off. So that gives you a full week to submit your clever, polished verse.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you\u2019ll join me in writing a limerick with this first line:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A gal who was fast on her feet&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nA guy who was fast on his feet&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>or<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Any First Line You Choose<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here\u2019s mine:<\/p>\n<p>Fast Limerick<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>A gal who was fast on her feet<br \/>\nKnew a winner she yearned to unseat.<br \/>\nSo she challenged the champ<br \/>\nAt violin camp,<br \/>\nWhere strong arms can outpace someone fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Please feel free to write your own limerick using the same first line (and\/or your freestyle limerick) and post it in my comments.
