It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to PHYLLIS STERLING SMITH a\/k\/a Granny Smith<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this very amusing verse:<\/p>\n

A fellow I tried to ignore
\nWas the neighbor who moved in next door.
\nI found, to my sorrow,
\nThat things he would borrow
\nWere stashed in his second-hand store.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Bruce Niedt<\/a>, RJ Clarken<\/a>, Johanna Richmond, and Scott Crowder. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Bruce Niedt:<\/p>\n

A fellow I tried to ignore
\nHas become quite a pestering bore,
\nWith his really tight pants,
\nAnd his red cape and dance —
\nI’m a bull, he’s a toreador!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

RJ Clarken:<\/p>\n

A woman I tried to ignore
\nMade a scene in an haute couture store.
\nShe paired a pelt scarf
\nWith faux feathers. (Oh barf!)
\nQuoth the raven, \u201cFaux pas! Never more!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Johanna Richmond:<\/p>\n

A fellow I tried to ignore
\nHas followed me all through the store.
\nHe thinks me a slacker
\nDeclining his cracker;
\nOh hell \u2013 pass the Spam de Wild Boar.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder:<\/p>\n

A woman I tried to ignore,
\nHad spurned my advances before.
\nThen she offered romance,
\nAnd I jumped at the chance.
\nI\u2019m a typical, sex craving boar.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
