It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to RJ CLARKEN<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this very clever verse:<\/p>\n

A girl who was lovely and fair
\nGot a job as a family\u2019s au pair.
\nShe gave birth to a child
\nof the “Gov”, now reviled.
\n“He\u2019ll be back” though, so please don\u2019t despair.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Scott Crowder, Johanna Richmond, and Brenda Bryant a\/k\/a Rinkly Rimes.<\/a> Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A gal who was lovely and fair
\nHad strawberry scent in her hair,
\nAnd nice melons to boot,
\nA real passion fruit,

A gal who was lovely and fair
\nDrew men who felt licensed to stare.
\nSo she carried a sign
\nThat read \u201cMy body\u2019s MINE —
\nShow respect or risk hospital care!\u201d\n <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brenda Byant a\/k\/a Rinkly Rimes:<\/p>\n

A gal who was lovely and fair
\nWent around with her top-half all bare.
\nShe was grabbed by police
\nWho said “This stunt must cease!
\nYou really should grow longer hair.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
