It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and five Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Robert Basler<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this charming, not to mention artistic, verse:<\/p>\n

A gal had to cancel her plan
\nTo purchase some art by Rodin.
\nIt turned out some stinkers
\nMade counterfeit Thinkers
\nWhich they sold from the back of a van.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Jane Shelton Hoffman, Johanna Richmond, Patrice Stewart a\/k\/a Patrice Jenine, a\/k\/a Patrice of the ManyCats, Ron Mardix<\/a>, and David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>. \nHe was called in to work
\n(Yeah, the boss was a jerk)

Ron Mardix:<\/p>\n

A gal had to cancel her plan
\nTo marry her boyfriend named Stan.
\nShe has certain needs.
\nHe “barely” succeeds.
\nInstead, off she ran with Sue-Ann.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose:<\/p>\n

A pol had to cancel his plan
\nFor the banner beneath which he ran,
\nWhich read that “Obama
\nCannot find Osama,”
\nWhen now it appears: Yes, he can.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations again to all the winners for your wonderful limericks. And thanks to everyone for your fun submissions. There were so many good ones, narrowing them down to the best six was big challenge.<\/p>\n
