Today I’ve decided to have some homonym fun and I hope you will too.\u00a0 I’ve written two haiku about meat <\/em>and a limerick using the word meet.<\/em>\u00a0 First, my limerick: <\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Whenever I meet someone new,
\nI use memory tricks till I’m blue.
\nBut it’s always the same —
\nI forget ev’ry name
\nRight away — hope they blank mine out too.<\/p>\n

And now my two meat<\/em> haiku (senryu):<\/p>\n

Jews who keep kosher
\nHave anti-pig-meat bias:
\n“Don’t reform!” say pigs.<\/p>\n

I can’t understand
\nThose who oppose beef-eating,
\nExcept, perhaps, cows.<\/p>\n

Now, of course, it\u2019s your<\/strong> turn. Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to write some verse\u00a0using the homonyms meet <\/em>and meat,<\/em> or some other pair of homonyms if you prefer.\u00a0When you\u2019ve posted your poem(s), please return\u00a0here and add a direct link to your themed poetry, using Mr. Linky.<\/p>\n

Update:<\/strong> I added a second haiku, after commenter Stan Ski correctly pointed out that my cow haiku was about meat, but didn’t include the word meat.<\/p>\n
