It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

Rhett Butler made many heads turn
\nWhen he dealt sobbing Scarlett that burn.
\nA true Southern gent
\nWould have said as he went:
\n\u201cMah dear, Ah just don\u2019t give a durn.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Kathy El-Assal, Brian Allgar, Dave Johnson, and Konrad Schwoerke. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

The personna for whom viewers yearn
\nIs a Tina-as-Palin type turn
\nWho’ll earn kudos and laughs
\nFor quaint quirks and fun gaffes.
\nThat’s why SNL’s feeling the Bern.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar:<\/p>\n

Said the preacher, \u201cJust listen and learn \u2013
\nYou sinners are all gonna burn!
\nYour transgression enrages
\nThe Good Lord \u2013 the wages
\nOf sin will be paid in an urn.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson:<\/p>\n

The candles continue to burn;
\nShe’s intent on fulfilling a yearn.
\nBut his focus instead
\nIs SportsCenter, not bed;
\nIt looks like he might miss a turn.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Konrad Schwoerke:<\/p>\n

She was not one her trainer should spurn,
\nBut he did, and she swore he would learn.
\nSo because of her ire,
\nShe lit him on fire,
\nThen asked, “Are you feeling the burn?\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
