It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to TIM JAMES, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

For a call girl she likes simple chow,
\nBut she charges a grand to drop trou
\nFor a night\u2019s worth of vice.
\nHere\u2019s her totaled-up price:
\nJug of wine, loaf of bread, and a thou.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In Italy, friends, I learned how,
\nWhen leaving the palace, to bow.
\nThis courtesy brings
\nThe favor of kings.

Ian Graham: <\/p>\n

In the midst of a meeting with Mao,
\nThe Central Committee said \u201cCiao.
\nWe\u2019re all off to munch
\nA hot dog for lunch.
\nWe\u2019re told there\u2019s Great Chow in Macao.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Reddekopp:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m going to make this my vow:
\nTo party for Lent \u2013 oh, and how!
\nFor the fast goes by fast
\nWhen you\u2019re having a blast
\nAnd so now I say \u201cciao\u201d to my chow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson:<\/p>\n

With hipster beards popular now,
\nSome fellows have figured out how
\nTo grow \u2019em real thick
\nLike a hair-covered brick;
\nIt\u2019s handy for storing some chow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

A sailor, ashore for some chow,
\nMet a lady who asked him just how
\nSwabbies \u201cdo it.\u201d He laughed,
\nTurned her round, faced her aft,
\nAnd rammed into her stern with his prow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Konrad Schwoerke:<\/p>\n

We were told, on our cruise to Macao,
\nThat some Asians eat dog even now.
\nAnd it’s true, ’cause one day
\nAt a local caf\u00e9
\nOur host asked, “May we bring you some chow?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Suzanne Heymann:<\/p>\n

While making her first wedding vow
\nThe wife planned their life and here\u2019s how:
\n\u201cI can clean, pay the bills.
\nI have great bedroom skills.
\nJust don\u2019t ask me to cook any chow.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
