It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to ROBERT SCHECHTER,<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

Robert Schechter: <\/p>\n

“I’ve lost my poor beak! Damn my luck!
\nWithout it, my life will just suck.
\nThey’re expensive, but face it:
\nI need to replace it.
\nJust send me the bill,” said the duck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Adam Stern<\/a>, Will T. Laughlin<\/a>, Kathy El-Assal, Robert Schechter<\/a>, and David Reddekopp. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A white Pekin with plenty of pluck
\nTo the bartender strode, past the ruck.

\u2019Cross the barnyard the miscreant snuck,
\nAnd Farmer Buck\u2019s buttocks he struck.
\nWith a furious QUACK!
\nHe began his attack…
\nLemme tell you, that\u2019s one piquing duck!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kathy El-Assal: <\/p>\n

Since Obama is now a lame-duck,
\nThe Tea Party’s running amok:
\nTrumped up boasting’s applauded
\nWhile rumors are lauded,
\nCanards for the Fox crowd to pluck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Robert Schechter: <\/p>\n

When the goose fell in love with the duck,
\nHis mom and his dad went amok.
\n“We find it distressing
\nAnd don’t give our blessing!
\nShe’s American. You’re a Canuck!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Reddekopp:<\/p>\n

A duck and a rabbit? What luck!
\nA dilemma \u2013 poor Elmer is stuck.
\nSome believe that Bugs Bunny
\nWas fiendishly funny
\nTo say it\u2019s the season for duck.<\/p>\n

But I reckon the rabbit\u2019s a schmuck.
\nIf you sell out your friend, then you suck.
\nShots went by the duck\u2019s head.
\nShould he drop and play dead?
\nWhat I\u2019d do is tell Daffy to duck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
