It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Congratulations to DAVID REDDEKOPP, who wins Limerick of the Week for this clever verse:<\/p>\n

To me, it won\u2019t cease to amaze
\nHow a priest\u2019s not policed for his ways.
\nWhen he buggers boys\u2019 butts?
\nReassignment. That\u2019s nuts!
\nAnd the priest, he still preaches, and preys.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Will T. Laughlin<\/a>, Kirk Miller, Brian Allgar, Tim James, Adam Stern<\/a>, Scott Crowder, and Ian Graham.<\/a> Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Will T. Laughlin:<\/p>\n

May McCray has created a craze.
\nBut although May\u2019s maize maze may amaze,
\nRose\u2019s rose rows once rose
\nWhere the maize maze now grows,
\nAnd they\u2019ll raze the maze one of these days.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kirk Miller:<\/p>\n

He embarked on a dieting craze.
\nThe results never ceased to amaze.
\nWhen he stepped on the scale,
\nLoss of weight he would hail.
\nIt was clear he was changing his weighs.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

Mozart\u2019s output was one to amaze;
\nThough still young at the end of his days,
\nAnd approaching defeat
\nIn making ends meet,
\nHe left more than 600K\u2019s.*<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

*Mozart\u2019s works were catalogued by Ludwig Ritter von K\u00f6chel, and go up to K626 (the Requiem.)<\/p>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

The cannibals roasted some maize
\nAnd prepared a nice sauce Hollandaise.
\nThen a rival tribe\u2019s chief
\nGot thrown in as the beef.
\nIt\u2019s a worthy opponent they braise.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Adam Stern:<\/p>\n

Carmen\u2019s passion aroused Don Jos\u00e9\u2019s;
\nMaddalena, Andrea Ch\u00e9nier\u2019s.
\nBut Aida! She slipped
\nHerself into the crypt
\nWhere she died with her beau, Radam\u00e8s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar:<\/p>\n

To survive the political maze,
\nThere are rules for these decadent days:
\nJust keep cheating and lying,
\nVote-selling and buying \u2013
\nIn politics, crime always pays.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder:<\/p>\n

Whenever I\u2019m caught in a maze
\nOf beauties, I know where to gaze.
\nIt\u2019s right at my wife;
\nI value my life
\nAnd I’d like to see my golden days.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ian Graham:<\/p>\n

The maize farmer\u2019s hoping for lays
\n\u2019Mongst the chicks who get lost in his maze,
\nBut a mad Martian jerk\u2019ll
\nAppend a crop circle
\nAnd have his strange way with the strays.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
