And that means I write a limerick, and you write your own, using the same rhyme word. Then you post your limerick as a comment to this post and, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/madkane\/posts\/10153066215834315\">if you\u2019re a Facebook user, on Facebook too.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I hope you\u2019ll join me in writing a limerick using either <strong>BALL<\/strong> or <strong>BAWL<\/strong> at the end of Line 1 or Line 2 or Line 5.  (Homonyms or homophones are fine.)<\/p>\n<p>The best submission will be crowned Limerick Of The Week. (Here\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/2015\/06\/20\/limerick-of-the-week-218\/\">last week\u2019s Limerick Of The Week Winner<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>How will your poems be judged? By meter, rhyme, cleverness, and humor. (If you\u2019re feeling a bit fuzzy about limerick writing rules, here&#8217;s my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/how-to-write-a-limerick\/\"><em>How To Write A Limerick<\/em><\/a> article.)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll announce the Limerick of the Week Winner next Sunday, right before I post next week\u2019s Limerick-Off. So that gives you a full week to submit your clever, polished verse. Your submission deadline is <strong>Saturday at 10:00 p.m.<\/strong> (Eastern Time.)<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s my limerick: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A fellow was having a ball,<br \/>\nIgnoring his work while on call.<br \/>\nHe continued his con<br \/>\nTill the owner caught on;<br \/>\nPlaying hooky &#8230; and hockey &#8230; his fall.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Please feel free to write your own limerick using the same rhyme word and post it in my comments.
