It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to COLLEEN MURPHY<\/a>, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

For searching they brought out the hound,
\n\u201cThe best-sniffing hunt dog around.\u201d
\nBut instead of the punk
\nIt uncovered a skunk,
\nAnd the stench from its spray was profound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Brian Allgar, Scott Crowder, Allen Wilcox, and Dave Johnson. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Brian Allgar:<\/p>\n

I cursed when my stupid old hound
\nWent digging for bones in the ground,
\nFor I\u2019d cut up my wife
\nWith a sharp kitchen knife,
\nAnd she wasn\u2019t supposed to be found.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder:<\/p>\n

On days that I miss my old hound
\nI wait for that imminent sound
\nOf neighbors despairing
\nAnd cursing and swearing
\nWhenever they step in a mound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Allen Wilcox:<\/p>\n

That crazy old dog went around
\nAnd around, and he howled like a hound.
\nEvery day without fail
\nHe went out chasing tail –
\nIt was only his own that he found.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson:<\/p>\n

She continued to hector and hound;
\nHe recoiled from the unending sound.
\nNow technology wins;
\nHe just sits there and grins.
\nNew ear buds will keep him around.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
