It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to SUE DULLEY, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

Whether healthy and hearty and hale
\nOr feeble and fragile and frail,
\nIf a cold makes you cry
\nAnd you think you’ll soon die
\nIt’s a hundred to one that you’re male.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Tim James, Brian Allgar, Colleen Murphy<\/a> and Dave Johnson. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

A fisherman, typically male,
\nSet a hook for his co-worker, Gayle.
\nWhat a catch, for the win!
\nAfter reeling her in,
\nHe found out she was bait \u2014 for the jail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

The Judge had released him on bail,
\nBut his kids \u2013 seven female, six male –
\nScreamed and fought all the time,
\nSo he planned a new crime
\nAnd returned to the peace of the jail.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy:<\/p>\n

I thought I could learn how to sail
\nWith instructions I got in the mail
\nBut for trimming and tacking
\nThe guidelines were lacking.
\nAt least I could manage to bail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson:<\/p>\n

The party was hardy and hale;
\nAnd he was a red-blooded male.
\nThe women were hot
\nBut the ending was not;
\nHe awoke with his head in a pail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
