It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to SHANNON TUCKER<\/a>, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

Shannon Tucker: <\/p>\n

I begged of her, “Please let me stick
\n“My tongue deep inside it real quick.”
\nShe replied with a wink,
\n“Of course!” and turned pink
\nCotton candy t’ward me for a lick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Dave Johnson, Tim James, Brian Allgar, Will T. Laughlin<\/a>, Stephen B. Fleming, Konrad Schwoerke, and Nate Levin<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

If Jack wasn’t nimble or quick
\nWhen vaulting that flame-yielding stick,
\nHe’d have damaged his pride,
\nDisappointed his bride,
\nAnd there’d be no Jack Junior or Nick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson:<\/p>\n

She met a new fella named Nick
\nWho wanted to show her a trick.
\nWith a pill called Cialis,
\nHis two-minute phallus
\nTurned into a four-hour stick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

A proton attempted a trick:
\nHe pulled others close-in to him, thick.
\nThat\u2019s a problem, because
\nIt breaks physical laws.
\nNot to worry: the charges won\u2019t stick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar:<\/p>\n

I was proud of my magical trick,
\nAnd her clothes disappeared double-quick.
\nThen I pulled out my wand,
\nBut she laughed, that young blonde,
\nAt my minuscule conjurer\u2019s stick.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will T. Laughlin:<\/p>\n

After shooting the bear, hunter Vic
\nStood poking the beast with a stick.
\nWhat would happen, we said,
\nIf it wasn\u2019t quite dead?
\nAnd Vic replied, \u201cDon\u2019t be ridic\u2013\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stephen B. Fleming:<\/p>\n

A reply to a hot, friendly chick
\nWho asked for ride to a flick
\nWas much misconstrued
\nAnd considered quite lewd
\nWhen I asked, \u201c Can you handle a stick?\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Konrad Schwoerke: <\/p>\n

There once was a caveman named Glick
\nWho in rage gave a tree a swift kick.
\nTo the ground fell a bough
\nThat he grabbed yelling, “Yow!
\nDudes, come quick\u2014me invented the stick!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nate Levin: <\/p>\n

All that mud thrown at Hill, will it stick?
\nIs she raving, quite power-mad, sick?
\nWell with iron for skin,
\nRaining barbs won’t dig in–
\nShe’s hard-baked to repel every brick!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will T. Laughlin: <\/p>\n

Poor Jack is too nimble and quick
\nFinding places his candle to stick.
\nNow his candle is burning\u2026
\nHe\u2019s finally learning
\nWhere not to be dipping his wick.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
