It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to BRIAN ALLGAR, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

They were sunbathing out on their deck,
\nTanned all over, not wearing a speck.
\nThrough binocular glasses
\nI ogled their asses,
\nAnd soon had a very stiff … neck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Scott Crowder, Stephen Fleming, Dave Johnson, Kaye Roberts, and Will T. Laughlin<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

The woman had wanted to deck
\nThe fellow who wrote her a check.
\n\u201cFor one, I\u2019m a looker,
\nBut clearly no hooker
\nAnd two, that\u2019s the price for a peck!\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder:<\/p>\n

My right cheek is burning like heck.
\nIt’s red all the way to my neck.
\nI misspoke a word,
\nOr perhaps she misheard
\nWhen I asked her to sit on my deck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stephen Fleming: <\/p>\n

A captain was striving to check
\nHis foundering seafaring trek,
\nAs his mutinous crew
\nFormed a startling queue
\nTo punch him out square on the deck.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dave Johnson: <\/p>\n

While out on a wilderness trek,
\nThey\u2019ll sleep on a cold, craggy deck.
\nBut at home she will say
\n\u201cI\u2019m hurting today;
\nOur mattress is lumpy as heck!\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kaye Roberts:<\/p>\n

A gambler once salted the deck
\nWith aces, thus risking his neck.
\nBut he won all the cash
\nWhich he put in his stash
\nAnd gen’rously picked up the check.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will T. Laughlin: <\/p>\n

Poor Cap\u2019n Jack\u2019s barge is a wreck:
\nHe tried to say, \u201cAll hands on DECK\u2026\u201d
\nBut the order that Jack sent
\nWas spoiled by his accent.
\nThey thought he was saying… (oh, blecch!)<\/p>\n

Old Cap\u2019n Jack\u2019s eyes, they grew large
\nWhen he saw what went on in his barge.
\nI\u2019m told upon landing
\nThe misunderstanding
\nResulted in seaman discharge.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
