It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off. <\/a> <\/p>\n

Congratulations to BYRON IVES, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

At the clinic there\u2019s been a big switch,
\nCuz the doc\u2019s sense of humor is rich:
\nA sign on a shelf
\nBoldly reads: SUTURE SELF,
\nAnd patients go home in a stitch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Sue Dulley, Brian Allgar, Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Konrad Schwoerke, and Allen Wilcox. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Some nights when I turn on the switch
\nTo lighten a room dark as pitch,
\nI see a bulb die
\nAlthough “long life” I buy–
\nA premature seven-year glitch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar:<\/p>\n

My computer? I off\/on the switch
\nEvery time there\u2019s a Microsoft glitch.
\nTheir software\u2019s so poor
\nThat I\u2019ve never been sure
\nHow Bill Gates got disgustingly rich.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

The surgeon decided to switch
\nTo coffee a little less rich.
\nThe upside was there
\nAs it kept him aware.
\nThe downside: it caused him to twitch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Konrad Schwoerke wrote:<\/p>\n

At this point in my life, I should switch
\nTo a healthier diet (less rich).
\nBut to make a fresh start
\nWould require more heart,
\nSo I shop Abercrombie and Fitch.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
